Conrad Albrecht family

Conrad Albrecht family - Families (German-Russian)
Conrad Albrecht was born April 9, 1873 in Norka, Russia and confirmed in the Reformed faith in 1888 by Rev. Staerkel. In February of 1895, he was joined in marriage to Elizabeth Derr whose birthday was on August 25, 1877, also of Norka. She had been confirmed at age 15 years by the same pastor in the Norka Reformed church. The couple came to Canada in February of 1900 and arrived in Stony Plain, several weeks later. They joined the Glory Hills (Stony Plain) Reformed (log) church. Some time later they joined the Glory Hills Baptist church, a short distance down the road from the Reformed church. The children born into this family were: Henry, Katie, John, Elizabeth, Emma, William, Annie, Adam, Reuben, Lawrence, Clarence, and Sarah in that order. The grandmother, Christina Marie Albrecht, mother of Conrad, who also came with her son and family in 1900, was also born in Norka. She passed away and buried at the Hope Reformed Church in Glory Hills in about 1906. The grandmother Albrecht is not shown in the family picture above. While Conrad died in 1931 and his wife Elizabeth died in 1941, they are both buried in the Baptist cemetery. All the above children have now passed away and their descendants either reside in the area of Stony Plain or have moved elsewhere. (Courtesy: book "One of Many" by Reuben Bauer)
