Chief Hector Crawler

Chief Hector Crawler - First Nations of Western Canada
OUR APOLOGIES.... This image is a mistaken identity. This Chief Hector Crawler of the Stoney Indians (NOT... Shot-on-Both-Sides, Head Chief of the Blood tribe). Chief Crawler is attired here in all the glory of full regalia.... feather headress, beaded work, ermine tails. He suffered an injury to his eye while on the warpath, however somewhat marred his good looks. He was one of those who signed Blackfoot Treaty Seven in 1877. The Queen's Medal he is wearing shows a representative of the Crown and an Indian Chief confirming their good intentions with a handshake.
