Governor General's Flag

Governor General's Flag - Flags and Banners
This is the flag for the Governor General of Canada. This flag is used where ever the Governor General travels in Canada or abroad. A flag for any member of the Royal Family, including the Prince of Wales or Prince William's flag, will not fly on the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, except that of the Governor General. His flag superceeds that of any member of the royals, other than the Queen's flag. When the Queen visits Canada and she is in residence at Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Canadian Governor General, or when the Queen is opening the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, then her flag takes precedence over the Governor General's flag and it is used at the Parliament Buildings, her official car and at Rideau Hall. When the Queen leaves Canada to return home to England, then the Governor General's flag is hoisted in those appropriate places.
