This is the Monarch butterfly on a bright flower in the Leu Butterfly Gardens in Orlando, Florida, USA. The monarch butterfly travels a distance of more than 6,000 miles every Spring and every Fall in migration from northern Canada to the southern United States and Mexico. Here in the southern hemisphere the monarch does its mating and then in Spring returns to the Canadian prairies, only to repeat the process all over again in the Fall.
