Pall Mall

Pall Mall - Royal London Tour
After leaving Westminster Abbey, our chauffeur drove our car to the Horse Guards Palace. It was interesting to learn about this fairly lengthy strip of roadway, known as "Pall Mall", leading up to Buckingham Palace, that it was originally constructed in 1917 for King George V and Queen Mary and the family to use as a runway for the royal airplane to help them escape in case the palace would be bombed by the enemy.
