Raccoon - Animals
This vicious little animal is a carrier of rabies. Lives in tree hollows, in abandoned buildings and is carnivorous. Not considered to be a good pet. Early pioneers and hunters ate the dark meat of the Raccoon, an excellent source of protein. They are very curious, nocturnal by nature. Live in western Canada and the United States. Appears like a masked bandit, it is a mischief maker. Unlike the cat family to which it belongs, it does not have a long life span. (Photo: R. Bauer)
