Threshing Grain in Russia

This old-style, home manufactured, stationery threshing machine is powered by a steam engine. All the sheaves of grain were brought in from the fields and stacked in a convenient spot near the machine. Here are many able-bodied hands (whole families who joined together) helping gather up the grain and put it through the "feeder" of the machine for harvesting. This threshing machine was used in Russia. (circa:1995 and prior) Be sure to note the three-pronged hay or grain fork, as seen elsewhere in our collection.
